Supported Self-Employment Development Workbook 1: Facilitated Exploration

This workbook is the first of two self-employment planning workbooks designed for people with significant disabilities and their planning teams. This first workbook provides a guide to facilitate the individualized discovery process and help assess the sustainability of a micro-enterprise idea.

People with disabilities have a variety of resources and challenges when starting a micro-enterprise. This workbook gives structure to address potential obstacles and realize individual assets in the following areas: employment history, education, transportation, housing, assistive technology, finances, legal considerations, health, supports, community connections, communication, and equipment.

This workbook will assist the prospective entrepreneur and his/her team with developing action plans when necessary. The plans can be used as the foundation for a developing the business plan or provided to vocational planning professionals if needed.
